ILLINOIS – State Representative Jennifer Sanalitro (R-Hanover Park) has launched a petition to continue her efforts to end taxes on tips and overtime pay.
The two related pieces of legislation would lighten the tax burden on workers and allow them to keep more of their hard earned income. Sanalitro’s HB1898 creates an income tax deduction for gratuities and her HB1899 creates an income tax deduction for overtime compensation.
“Hardworking Illinoisans deserve a break. Whether it’s through earning tips or putting in extra hours, the government shouldn’t be taking more of the hard-earned money individuals work so hard for.” said Sanalitro. “These bills fairly let workers keep more of what they earn and stop the state from cashing in on others’ hard work. No more taxes on tips or overtime!” concluded Sanalitro.
