Coyote Mating Season Alert

ILLINOIS – Coyote mating season in Illinois occurs in late February and early March and is a time when they are more active and visible. Residents may notice increased movement and howling from coyotes, especially during the evening and early morning hours as they search for mates and establish their territories. To help prevent unwanted interactions with wildlife it’s important to remain aware of your surroundings, keep pets supervised, and avoid leaving food outdoors.
