Rep. Sanalitro Celebrates Italian American Heritage Month

ACROSS ILLINOIS – State Representative Jennifer Sanalitro (R – Hanover Park) is celebrating a newly enacted law she chief co-sponsored in the Illinois General Assembly. The law permanently establishes each October in Illinois as Italian-American Heritage Month.

As of this October 2024, the month will perpetually serve as a celebration and recognition of the significant impact Italian-Americans have made on American history and culture. This new designation shines a spotlight on the countless contributions and achievements of Italian-Americans throughout the nation’s history.

Representative Sanalitro expressed her enthusiasm for the law, “I am truly proud to witness the recognition of Italian-American heritage in our state. Octobers in Illinois will not just be a celebration of the Italian American experience, but an inspiration for future generations of Italian-Americans to continue making Illinois the best state it can be.”

Rep. Sanalitro encourages residents and all Illinoisans to participate in events and activities that honor the deep-rooted history and vibrant culture of Italian-Americans.
