Rep. Sanalitro Reacts to Governor Pritzker’s 2025 State of the State Address

Springfield, IL – State Representative Jennifer Sanalitro (R-Hanover Park) has released the following statement in response to Governor Pritzker’s 2025 State of the State Address, and the largest state budget in history at $55.2 billion dollar budget.

“During a time when residents are craving bipartisanship and unity, Governor Pritzker used his budget address to divisively attack Republicans for the failures caused by his own policies,” said Rep. Sanalitro. “As Governor, he is directly responsible for the failures of his administration: inflation caused by government overspending, high taxes and regulations driving thousands of job creators out of state, and unsafe communities caused by favoring criminals and noncitizens over law-abiding Illinoisans”.

“As a lawmaker, I have learned that the only way to do this job is by listening to residents and their true concerns, rather than disagreeing with them as a default position. Governor Pritzker is clearly more worried about positioning himself to run for President and disagreeing with the alternative solutions that Republicans have proposed that get our state back on the right track.”

Rep. Sanalitro, now in her second term as State Representative, has filed a variety of bills in the 104th General Assembly, many of which address the issues ignored by the Governor. This includes legislation to reduce the costs for individuals, families and workers, protect victims from violent crime, and improve access to voting and higher education.
