Rep Sanalitro Recognizes January as National Human Trafficking Prevention Month

JANUARY – State Representative Jennifer Sanalitro (R-Hanover Park) is recognizing January 2025 as National Human Trafficking Prevention Month. She is urging Illinois residents to raise awareness and take action to combat the growing human trafficking crisis happening in their own communities.

“Human trafficking is a violation of human rights that continues to affect communities across Illinois,” said Rep. Sanalitro. “Raising awareness is a key step toward prevention, protection, and supporting survivors.”

Although difficult to truly measure, it is estimated that there are over 1 million victims of human trafficking in the US annually. For more information on how to recognize the signs of human trafficking please visit the Illinois State Police’s website: www.isp.illinois.gov/Home/HumanTrafficking.

If you know or suspect someone is a victim of human trafficking, please report it to your local authorities and the National Human Trafficking Hotline www.humantraffickinghotline.org.

For further details or inquiries, please contact Representative Sanalitro’s office at 630-349-0645.
