ILLINOIS – State Representative Jennifer Sanalitro (R-Hanover Park) is encouraging local fire departments across Illinois to take advantage of a funding opportunity aimed at improving public safety and community infrastructure. A total of $5 million in grant funding is now available for fire departments across the state to rehabilitate or build fire stations. Applications must be submitted by February 28, 2025.
“These grants are an incredible opportunity for our fire departments to modernize and enhance their facilities,” said Rep. Sanalitro. “More importantly these grants give our communities access to better services and safety.”
The grant funding is part of a state initiative to support essential emergency services and ensure fire departments have the resources needed to effectively protect Illinois residents. Fire departments are encouraged to act swiftly to take full advantage of this opportunity.
