DuPage County, IL – State Representative Jennifer Sanalitro (R-Hanover Park) is reminding residents that April is recognized as Financial Literacy Month and is a time dedicated to highlighting the importance of personal financial well-being. Furthermore, Representative Sanalitro is taking this opportunity to remind all residents of DuPage County about the helpful resources available to address outstanding medical debt and to embrace a healthier financial future.
The DuPage Health Coalition, a valued nonprofit organization, has a program available to assist those struggling with medical bills. Through their Medical Debt Care DuPage program, the coalition uses its network of hospitals, doctors, and community groups, to bring high-quality healthcare access to all, especially the uninsured and underinsured.
The Medical Debt Care DuPage program offers free, in-person, or virtual consultations with financial counselors who can help residents navigate medical bills, whether past or present, and explore eligibility for medical financial assistance programs. Their services cater to various medical costs incurred from hospitals, ambulances, doctor’s offices, and even bills that have gone into collections.
“Addressing medical debt is crucial for securing a healthy financial future for many families. I urge everyone who needs help to reach out to the DuPage Health Coalition. It’s a great step towards financial recovery and well-being,” said Representative Sanalitro.
