Distracted Driving Awareness Month

DuPage County, IL – State Representative Jennifer Sanalitro (R-Hanover Park) is reminding DuPage County residents that the National Safety Council and the State of Illinois have declared April as Distracted Driving Awareness Month.

“There is a real importance in keeping our roads safe and reducing accidents due to distracted driving. Distracted driving is a leading cause of Illinois road accidents and contributes to a significant number of injuries and fatalities each year” said Sanalitro.

This year, the National Safety Council will engage in a month-long, nationwide distracted driving education campaign by working with the State of Illinois and other units of government to promote policies and practices that lead to increased safety on our roadways.

State Representative Sanalitro concluded: “All Illinois residents and Americans deserve to live in communities that practice the kinds of safe driving behaviors that get everyone back home safe.”
