HANOVER PARK, IL – State Representative Jennifer Sanalitro is proudly celebrating a new law she chief co-sponsored in the Illinois House that makes the month of October Italian-American Heritage Month.
Starting in October 2024, the month will serve as a celebration and recognition of the significant impact Italian-Americans have made on American history and culture. This new designation shines a spotlight on the countless contributions and achievements of Italian-Americans throughout the nation’s history.
Representative Sanalitro expressed her enthusiasm for the law, stating, “It fills me with immense pride to witness the acknowledgment of Italian-American heritage in our state. This month will not just be a celebration of our past, but an inspiration for future generations of Italian-Americans to continue enriching Illinois.”
Rep. Sanalitro encourages residents and all Illinoisans to begin planning how they will participate in events and activities that honor the deep-rooted history and vibrant culture of Italian-Americans in October 2024.
