Carol Stream, IL – This week, State Representative Jennifer Sanalitro (R-Bloomingdale) is attending the Executive Leadership Training event for the 2023 class of the Edgar Fellows Program at the University of Illinois (U of I) campus in Urbana-Champaign. Started in 2012 and housed at the U of I System’s Institute of Government and Public Affairs, the Edgar Fellows Program is an initiative designed by former Illinois Governor Jim Edgar to place more emphasis on bipartisan cooperation in Illinois Government. Rep. Sanalitro is one of the forty public policy leaders chosen out of the highly competitive selection process conducted annually by the program.
“I am honored to have been chosen to be apart of the 2023 Class of Edgar Fellows and look forward to spending the week furthering my skills as a lawmaker and local leader,” said Sanalitro. “In addition to absorbing the many presentations from industry experts on issues that include economic development, supply chain management, education, Medicaid, and transportation, I will prioritize finding common ground between myself and fellow participants in an effort to gain a better understanding of the state’s major challenges.”
Since assuming the role as the 48th District State Representative, Sanalitro has prioritized the values of an Edgar Fellow, which include using respectful and collaborative leadership to address any issue that comes across her desk.
Sanalitro continued, “So long as I hold elected office, I will hold myself to the highest standard when dealing with colleagues who may not share my experiences or worldview. This is why I am excited for the journey and learning more about what makes the Edgar Fellows Program so special.”
Rep. Sanalitro is in her first term as the State Representative for House District 48, which includes the communities of Addison, Bensenville, Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, Elk Grove, Hanover Park, Itasca, Medinah, Roselle, Schaumburg, and Wood Dale in suburban DuPage and Cook counties.
